Maharat for Tourism Programme

The Skills for Tourism program aims to drive the future of tourism by focusing on green and sustainable practices, and seeks to support 25,000 job seekers and small business owners in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Tunisia, Lebanon, and the Palestinian Territories. The program offers customized training in artificial intelligence, key soft skills, and advanced digital tools, while collaborating with governments to improve regulatory frameworks for tourism.

With support from Google.org, SPARK has also developed “Skills for Tourism,” a dynamic e-learning platform that offers specialized curricula geared to different sectors of the tourism industry, including courses on tourism strategies and policies for governments, and courses for micro-entrepreneurs on managing SMEs in the tourism sector. It also includes training modules on operating experiential tourism and event planning and design, aimed at job seekers looking to enter the tourism sector.

Maharat for Tourism Programme

With the support of Google.org, the Maharat for Tourism programme empowers young people across Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, and the Palestinian territories. We assist job seekers and small to medium-sized business owners in the travel and tourism sector by enhancing their digital and soft skills. Additionally, we support government policymakers in developing regulatory frameworks that foster thriving and productive tourism industries.

Maharat for Tourism boosts digital and soft skills for job seekers and business owners while helping shape policies for a thriving tourism industry across the region.
